The unique all weather SofTrak Green System was created to imitate a real golf course green in every way. It is proven and built to last from the foundation up, with over 3500 installations worldwide.

The Base

The SofTrak system starts with a 2 layer flex base that provides stable support, drains quickly and won't crack from freezing or expanding soils. The putting surface can even be designed with contours and undulations for uphill, downhill, and breaking putts.

The Turf

The SofTrak turf is a specialised product and the only synthetic turf manufactured from fibres specifically designed to simulate the softness, texture, density, and colour of natural bent-grass. SofTrak turf is manufactured to precise specifications in order to achieve optimum pile height and density. This creates an all weather putting surface that is truly realistic, performing just like a natural golf green. SofTrak turf and the fibre used to make it are manufactured exclusively and no one else has anything like it.

The In-Fill
System

The SofTrak system integrates a unique in-fill system called RQS-2000 into the fibres of the turf. RQS consists of a specially formulated blend of rounded quartz particles which keep the surface feeling soft / natural, unlike sand which is angular and compacts / hardens over time.

We begin by excavating and compacting the site and overlaying a special geotextile fabric to help stabilise the sub-base.

We then construct a two-layer, compacted crushed stone flex-base.

Compact it completely.

Contour the surface to your specifications. The base is now ready for the SofTrak turf to be placed, cut and shaped as desired.

Now comes a special blend of round quartz silica (RQS-2000).

Grooming the RQS-2000 into the turf causes the fibres to stand upright and separate into hundreds of more slender fibres which gives the SofTrak system its special grass-like qualities for true bounce and roll characteristics.

We apply a combination of black and green top-dressing which gives the green a realistic appearance.

Our last step is to adjust the speed of the green by rolling. We can even match the speed of the greens at your favourite club.
